Educated, Screen, and Test High-Risk Populations for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

Benefits to the Students and the Community

This project addresses an overlooked proportion of the population and could potentially assist in reducing the rates of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea in Douglas County.

  • Increase awareness of safe sexual practices and sexual health

  • Work with interprofessional team to address an urgent public health problem

  • Experience direct patient contact with an underserved population early in career

  • Educate and treat to prevent further spread of STIs
